Engine Cooling problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 189000 km

I have a 99 grand am se 3.4 litre and its giving me problems. it wants to over heat and when i shut it off sometimes it boils over would it be my water pump or thermostat

Hi tommy. have the same car,same problem,changed the w.p., therm., still acted up. Not saying it`s NOT your pump but these engines are NOTORIOUS for the intake gaskets!! If ya look on the driver side, (have to look very close) around the intake just above head-typically in rear, you`ll probably see wetness! Just an idea! goodluck!
