My 98 Grand Am (2.4) has been sputtering and dying when the gas tank falls below a certain level. It started doing it when the tank fell below a quarter tank, and now it does it when there is less than a half tank. It willl not die when the tank is full, and always re-starts right away. Temperature seems to make no difference. Plugs, wires, battery, alternator, fuel filter have are all new in last 12 months. Could it be the fuel pump, or maybe just the idle air control?
