Son got home from Iraq, bought a sweet car 5 days later blew the misfire code, should I look at the coils ,or fuel filter it's been in storage awhile? I had a acheiva many years ago with the same motor, seems like I remember those problems or maybe the tower, with carbon tracking, can you steer me in the right direction before I tear down his show car?

Should lead you to check that cylinder's sparkplug/compression/injector

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
