Engine problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Am Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Recently puchased this car from a friend who claims "well, I never had ANY problems with it". This can has a new Alternator and a new Battery, I suspect an ingition swith may be the blame, but i'm not sure. The car suddenly decided to not start, it will crank but not start... then pehaps after a couple of tries with the cranking it will just click (one click) when you turn the key and not try to crank at all. Wait a few hours or a day and you can try it again, you will get cranking a few times and then a click. Once you turn the key and get "The Click" it si futile to try again immediatly. Do you guys know what the issue is here?

It sounds as if the battery low
my suggestion is to get the battery charged and try again to start but this time hold down the gas pedal all the way down
