Electrical problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Automatic 200016 miles

I just passed the 200,000 mark so obviously something would have to go wrong. I went to start my car and the car acted like it was dead, but after a few tries started up. Same thing happened the next morning so I went to get the battery tested. Rated at 700 CCA and it only tested 335 CCA so I went ahead and replaced the battery with an Everstart 75-3N. Afterwards it started up just fine. After work, on my way home, when I hit the power windows it acted like I was draining the power. Where it was reading a little high it suddenly began dragging down the other way. As soon as I let go of the window button the power shot back up. Is my alternator going bad or could it be something else?

Where can I get an Alternator tested? Advance Auto/Autozone/O'Reillys? Or do I need to go to a mechanic?

Battery terminals should be clean from when they replaced the battery but I'll check.

A use of a volts meter will help

any of them places u mentioned should be able to help

battery volts is about 12.5 volts with engine off.

Start engine turn on lights and wipers radio...
Check battery volts

should be above 13.5 volts to 14.5 volts with every thing on
if lower then alternator no good

good luck
