Engine Performance problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 153000 miles

I have had my engine rebuilt, since then my car misses occasionally, when it does, if I have my cruise control on it will kick it off, I have taken this to a dealer to find out what was going on, it didnt act up. Please help me I need to use the cruise control

THis is a tough one because many things could cause a random missfire. Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Has the fuel filter been replaced reciently? Has fuel pressure been tested? Finally, have you had the problem since the rebuild, or did it start awhile after it?

LEt me know. I will provide steps to do the testing yourself if you need it.

I will change the filter, the missing started about 3months after the rebuild, I have ckd for vaccume leaks.

If that doesn't change anything, I recommend checking the fuel pump pressure. Let me know how it goes.
