My car has be occasionally stalling as you slow coming up to a red light. It is like the transmission is not gearing down. Tonight, it restarted and stayed on about 5 minutes after the original stall but ran rough for the next 3 miles. It then stalled when I parked it. It would not restart and as I was waiting for a tow, the battery started to die (radio died). I only waited for 20 minutes before the battery started to die and only had the flashers, radio and inside light on. I was parked in a very dark parking lot. anyway the car would not turnover. Could the alternator and low battery have been the cause of the stalling?

Get the battery and alternator tested, when this is done-get the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor and the EGR check out.
