While accelerating slowly the car is fine. If I were to press the gas pedal too the floor. Or to try and accelerate quickly (bringing the rpm's over 2000) the car "bogs out" IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. The rpm gage goes up and down and up and down. As does the speedometer. And the car will not ACCELERATE. NO LIGHTS ARE ON. The engine light or anything. My mechanic says he cannot figure it out.

I have a similar issue, but different outcome. When I accelerate as you do, not slowly, gently, but quickly, in otherwords "under a load" I hear an anoying whistling sound. Not when in park and press on gass, and not so much under a slow, gentle acceleration. Just when accelerating hard while driving. I am curious if these could be related.
