Hi there! I recently purchased a 2005 Pontiac G6 with 44,000 kms. Within a week of owning the car the catalytic converter gave out! We replaced it at the local GM dealer! Shortly after we noticed a slight bucking during accelerating. Took the car in for inspection and they told us the head gasket was gone. We had the head gasket replaced and since then once the car is warm we are getting misfiring with hesitation and lack of power! Driving around town the car is fine, but once on the highway at around 80 kms the car starts sputtering. Took the car to the garage and they told me my plugs and wires were gone. Replaced wires and plugs with Bosch! Never made a difference. Took the car back to the garage again and they cant duplicate the problem. Can you help?

Has the check engine light come on? Also, has the fuel pump pressure been checked? New fuel filter?

Let me know.

The fuel pump pressure has not been checked! They said it could be a kinked fuel line, but didnt check. The check engine light has not come on either! With the portable computer hooked up while driving, my car is missing on all cylinders except #6. Previous test showed all cylinders except #1 and #6! My injecters were checked and passed. I dont trust my dealer at all. I have had my car in numersous times for this problem and the car comes back cant duplicate the problem but yet no tests have been done on my car. I believe they did a compression test and I have changed plugs and wires. Fuel filter has not been changed. Thank you!

I suggest checking the fuel pump pressure. It is easy to do. The only thing you need is a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will do it free. Here is the how to:

Try that and let me know what you find.
