2005 Pontiac G6 car won't start

on the expressway all of a sudden my car turned off. the lights and everything still worked but car wouldn't turn on. the car cranks with no problem but it just wouldn't turn on. someone said it could have been the timing chain, is this true?

Hi, I'd check the basics first. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. To check for spark, you can use a known good spark plug or spark tester. Then you just pull a plug wire, place the tester in the boot, ground to metal part of engine, watch for spark. Also, some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage.
