2007 Pontiac G5 Noise while stopping

Noises problem
2007 Pontiac G5 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 103000 miles

I drive a '07 Pontiac G5 with about 102,000 miles. Whether I am in gear (manual) or not, as I come to a stop I hear a single 'bang/knock'. It doesn't repeat over and over as I am braking, just happens one time. As I move forward from my stop there is no sound, it just happens when I am coming up to the stop. Any ideas what would be causing this? It just recently had new brakes put on (rotors and pads) so I know it isn't due to worn brakes. I'm not sure if something in the suspension would cause this so I am looking for suggestions.

If noise came soon after the pads and rotors were replaced check pads if loose in place or missing shims
or suspect a bearing
hook a scanner and check the speed on each sensor
as you coming to a stop they all should be the same if any drop to zero before the other suspect a bad hub bearing
good luck
