I have a 1989 firebird formula my driver side headlight motor doesn't want to move. There is current running through it and the gears inside are not stripped. When I turn the knob it feels like it wants to move but doesn't. Does anyone know how I might fix this problem? Thanks

Ok, i am not an expert by any means and your vehicle is a diff generation than mine i believe, but i can tell you my experience - i have a 98 firebird formula and the drivers side headlight has stopped working multiple times - first time i had the motor replaced, the second time i replaced the motor myself with a metal gear from the website below - this repair worked for a while but then it stopped working again - complete with grinding, sometimes coming up, coming up only when i pull up the light and then not working at all

currently my headlights are flipped up cause i just havent had time to pull the motor out again - you have some options but they mostly involve replacing something on the motor - you could always remove the motor and put it back in to see if this works - conclusion: this will probably be a continuing problem for you so if you got $70 for a used motor you might just want to replace it --- i put other links at the bottom from bfrankers site about common 4th gen f body headlight probs (good luck!) - thoiugh as noted above your car is 3rd gen
