2000 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 114656 miles

my vehicle will not pass emissions test for the inspection, I was advised I needed a new catalac convertor, I had that part installed and drove it 100 miles and the light flashes on and off and then remains on. It will flash on and off as I drive the vehicle. The oil has benn changed, serpentine belt has been changed and all it shows on the codes is the converter and cylinder 2 misfire.

Well, the converter, actually check the O2 sensors. I want to say there are 4 O2 sensors on the exhaust, but the computer readout should tell you which one it is.
I know when I drove mine on a long trip, one of the O2 sensors would trip a "Check Engine Light", but would clear on it's own.

As for the Cylinder two misfire, check the spark plug sires, and the Coil Packs.

I answered something similar on a post before, here: https://www.2carpros.com/forum/1999-pontiac-firebird-cuts-out-vt86769.html
It kind of gives you an idea what to look for.
I think (and if I'm wrong, I'm sorry) but I think Cylinder 2 is on the passenger side.
Easies way to find out which calender is 2, look on the Coil Packs (the black things that the spark plug wires are plugged into). One should read something like 1 / 4 2/6 3/5 (orders might be wrong), but the one that says 2 next too it runs your Cylinder 2. Follow that wire, and that's #2.

Check the wire (see the post I linked too before) for some ideas.
