1997 Pontiac Firebird engine does not start

hi.i have this problem with my daugther car,the car does not start,i got lights,battery volts 12.1,i open the ign. switch and i heard the fuel pump working and i heard at the engine compartment fuel pressure at the fuel rail close to the regulator,i tried the key all the way and nothing happen,with the key open i tried to start the engine from the stater and engine start for a second and then dies like there is a cut ing. wire,I check fuses and relays inside the engine compartment and inside the car,i changed the ing. switch with an acdelco brand and no good results.the key and tumbler was change 2 years ago expensive dealer item the key has the micro-chip inserted on it,could that be the problem the micro-chip key or the other part of the micro-chip i mean where the key make contact please any help will be appreciate it,daugther on college not working just my self and at work is not very good now working only 36hrs per week.thanks and BLESS.

never got help,but it is ok i changed the key and tumbler and the car started right away,but this time i bought the switch from ac delco genuine brand,no more problems,i hope this help other persons with this same problem,alflores
