I am having problems lately with my coolant level. I have driven around for a few days and noticed that when I get to a stop ligght my temp will go up, but when I speed up the temp goes down. So when I got home I opened the radiator cap and saw that I had a low level of coolant. So I filled up the radiator and put the cap back on and then a few days later the same thing happened again.

I have checked the spark plugs and they seem cleaner than normal. I have also noticed that there is not a leak comming from any part of the radiator. I am stumped and so is my mechanic, although he believes that it might be head gasket related. Please help.

Do you notice driveability problems or excessive white smoke coming out of the exhaust at all times? If not then chances are thats not your problem more of the fact is thats alot of coolant to loose in a period of a few days. I think you should check the vehicle while it is running for leaks, and keep it running till its warm if still nothing, drive it a few miles come back pop the hood and look for leaks, if still nothing turn it off and see if the coolant bubbles out of the tank. Post back what you find.
