1985 Pontiac Firebird fuse box issue

ok so i just replaced the motor in the carhad some starter issues hooked it up wrong got it right and now the guages 10 amp fuse keeps popin every time i turn the key on their is a seperate wire in the wiring loom the goes to the head light control thats fried and im not sure how to fix it really frustrating if i fix the wire would it fix the problem idk what to do man
