ok i have a 88 fiero with the 2.4 in it. It started back firing and i replaced the wires, plugs, and coils but it continued to do it. The funny thing was that you could not hear it at the exhaust pipe but you could here it at the muffler. It is more like a knock than a bang. The car runs great but every now and than it will try to stall when i start from a dead stop. The muffler ended up busting and the back fire stopped. I was told it could be a o2s but i have no check engine light on.I was also told that it could be a clogged muffler or converter. I did have a problem with the converter raddling but it stoped. Help?
