1986 Pontiac Fiero It will turn over but it won't start!!!?

Hey I am having trouble with my '86 GT. I replaced my feul filter a week ago. I had to take out the fuse for it, put it on a lift, and let all the gas out. Well about two days later, I went to work and I was leaving in the evening and it would not start. It just keeps turing over, but it just won't start. I think there may be a short or maybe a spark is not catching the feul or something. I can smell feul when I turn it over, though nothing leaks, so I don't believe it is the feul pump. WHen I took the fuse out to replace feul filter, I got kind of the same thing that it is doing now, so I replaced fuse. Please help......What should I check????
