My car was fine up until a few minutes ago where the coolant goes started making funny noises and then the coolant started to over flow the dummy light for the temp came on I dont think the temp gauge works it has never moved past 100. It does not have a leak its just over flowing I cant tell if the thermostat is good or bad because the temp gauage doesnt work I will check it as soon as I find out where it is but I would like to know if it is possibly a different problem frst (im thinking the cooling system is clogged)

The first thing to check would be the thermostat. Follw the upper radiator hose, takes you right to it, when was your last flush and fill?

Go to Autozone, they have a loaner tool program, rent a pressure tester and check the cooling system, also buy flush kit, fast flush, antifreeze and a tstat. Pressure test the cooling system for leaks, if non found, remove stat flush the system, replace the tstat. If leaks are found, repair and then replace tstat and refill.
