2003 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

do I need special tools to replace the left inner tie rod, and do I need to remove the rack and pinion unit from the car to perform this repair?

Hi:
There are no special tools needed and the rack doesn't need removed. However, you will need patience because it can be a tough job.
