2002 Pontiac Bonneville blower motor

Blower motor stopped working this past summer. Had it looked at (was on vacation) Shop said the connector wire to fan overheated. they stretched wire some how to make it work.
Now fan works some time. A good clap on the dash board in the morning will make it come on.
WHen on runs almost with RPM of engine no matter what the electonic control is set on

Motor seems to be OK do you think wire can be replaced spliced?

Hi:
It sounds like the fan motor is drawing too many amps which caused the wiring to melt down. Most likely it has melted or is in the process of doing the same to the blower motor resister.

Yes, you can replace / repair the wiring, but there is a reason it melted in the first place. We need to determine the cause. Check amprage draw to the motor and let me know what you find.
