Hi, I have a 98 Ponitac Bonneville. About a month ago I had the same problem I am dealing with now, the car was completely dead. I drove it out of the parking lot, it just stahled and would not start. I left it for a couple of minutes, and it started right up. Then, i had it tested, and they said i should change the alternator. I did this, and it seemed like it was working fine, but the other day the radio had reset, like when you disconnect the battery, but the car started fine. Today the same thing happened, the car was completely dead after it had just worked fine, Can Someone PLEASE help me!!

Have the alternator re-checked. It is more common than one would think, but I have seen many alternaters go bad after they had been replaced.

I would also go ahead and check yoiur wiring. Namely the connections to the alternator and the battery connections. You may have a loose grounding. If your connections are tight try cleaning the battery terminals. You'd be surprised how often a terminal cleaning can really help a car electronically. Any auto store should have terminal cleaning kits. Side or top shouldn't matter. If you have a top post though, You can clean it by taking a pair of pliers and setting the for wider use. put them on the terminal and apply light to mild pressure. move the pliers back and forth until you have a nice shiny look.
