When i press on the gas peddle to go, it takes a while for the car to pick up speed. I had the transmission checked and the guy told me that there was an electrical problem because the transmission wasn't getting the power it needed and was giving a flase reading when he checked it. I also got an oil change and had my battery checked and they gave me a slip that said my battery was good but it was low on charge. The slip said to check the alternator belt, charging system, and cables and connections. i had everything checked except the charging system. what could it be? What is the Charging System?

it sounds like the transmission is stuck in failsafe mode and it is starting off in second gear. you will have to take it to a transmission repair shop and have them scan it and find out if its a transmission electrical problem or internal trans problem
