My car heater is only blowing heat at one speed. When I turn the dial to increase the fan speed it does not respond. I tried to change the piece under the dash (don't know what it is called) and that did not change things. Is it an electrical problem with the knob or do I need a new heating system?

I already changed the relay. when the new one was installed it did not change things. The fan still blows at one speed. There is heat but the fan speed is the problem. I am also having probs with my dashboard lights. They flicker on and off. When they go off I wiggle the dimmer button and they go on again for a llittle bit. So could it be an electrical prob in the dash that is affecting both the dash llights and fan speed?

If you mean you changed the Blower Motor resister which has the relay built in, then that only leaves the control head with the blower switch built in but I'll tell you, that is rare. It's nearly always the blower resister that causes that.

Your dash light issues will be addressed in your other question.

Thank-you I will look at that.
