Oil indicator light

I recently changed oil in a 1994 plymouth voyager se 3.3 6 cylinder ,and before I changed the oil the oil indicator light wasn't on or to my knowledge never has been on but just after I changed the oil ,the indicator light came on and hasn't went off ,what has caused this to happen ?

Lack of oil pressure. Did you use the correct filter?

TY for responding ,a little further investigating and found out that the filter didn't have a seal on it.
