This problem has been occurring maybe once or twice a year for the last 6 years. The transmission was checked by a tech. A couple times, but nothing was found. Now it's happening constantly. When shifting from reverse to drive the trans. Will fail to engage, shift to park then to drive and after several seconds it will engage. At times it will disengage while driving, but will engage after stopping shifting to park then to drive, but again after a several second delay.
There is no captured code.

Hi Chris0024, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Check the condition of the fluid and level if okay and you feel the filter is okay there's no other options here is just to have it pressure tested to find out more-could be a valve body/shifting solenoid hanging up and the pump and the list goes on. Or you can have these sensors checked out

The throttle position sensor which the computer uses to control throttle pressure and the vehicle speed sensor for the governor pressure.
