Engine Cooling problem
1999 Plymouth Voyager 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

In the past 36 hours my van thermometer has pegged and yet not leaking fluid. Then after off for a few hours drove it for 25 miles no issue. Then after a few hours drove it for 2 miles and the thermometer quickly rises again. My thought is the thermostat is going.

Replace thermostat just as preventative maintance. Also these vans have horrible engine coolant temp sensors. Parts store always has them wrong in computer.

Schucks or any parts america-ts71171
autozone-su326

those are part numbers about 20 bucks. Whats intresting about the temp sensor on these is it could increase fuel milage because the better it works the better you pcm knows how to mix fuel and air.
