Please give us something to work with. If you told your doctor you were in pain and that's all, don't you think he would ask a few questions?

What were the symptoms that led you to having it checked? What test indicated there was a problem with the alternator? Did you install a new, used, or remanufactured alternator? Was the battery tested? You must elaborate on "will not start today". Does the starter crank the engine at the normal speed? Do you just hear one loud clunk from the starter but it doesn't spin the engine? Watch the dome lights or headlights while trying to start the engine. Do they stay bright? Do they go out when trying to crank the engine? Are they always dim? What steps have you taken already to try to figure out the cause of the problem?

Common problems include the starter motor, the ignition switch, the battery, dirty battery cables, the voltage regulator, and the wiring harness.
