Hello,

I just replaced the transmission in a 97 Plymouth Voyager, it ran fine before the tranny went out, it runs fine now, however when I went to test drive it I got about a half mile driving at less than 25mph to a stop light and it stalled, it started up after several tries about 5 minutes. I got out on the hwy and was excellerating and it stalled again and has done so since even while setting at idle. The tranny I got is used and it seems to work fine it changed gears from 1st to 2nd just haven't been able to drive it without it stalling to see if it changes to 3rd. And aslo the Radiator Cooling Fans won't come on and the temp reaches 221 degrees I shut the Vehicle off at that time to cool. I believe the fan problem is the relay I get code p1491.

Thanks

have your egr valve looked at and cleaned or replace if necessary and have your engine coolant temperature sensor tested replaced. that should help with the over heating and egr should take care of the stalling problem. if egr valve doesnt help the stalling problem then, check the idle air control valve. but the code that you indicated is that your egr is mal functioning

Will check EGR Valve Idle Air Control Vavle... but every where I have looked and I like to double and triple check code defs because my scan tool is 2 years out of date. Anyway the code P1491 indicates "Radiator Fan Control Relay Circuit Open Or Shorted"

Thanks for the Help

Well, EGR and IAC checked out fine.
More testing and have narrowed it down to either the Coil or the Control Mod.

does anyone know what the Specs are for the coil it's a Echlin IC105. Cannot seen to fine them.

Thanks

OK, So just because the check or service engine light doesn't come on doesn't mean you don't have a sensor going bad.

I replaced the Crank Shaft Position Sensor and guess what it runs and runs and runs and runs.... No Stalling....

You learn something new every day in the Business.

Vehicle Fixed!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for everyone Help on this....
