My windshield wipers and my radio have been working intermittently. When one works the other doesn't. The radio will just come on even if it is turned off. Now both of them have stopped working. I have checked the fuse for the wipers. That is fine. The windshield washer is on the same fuse and it works. I can live without the radio. I need the wipers. Any suggestions?

Hello -

Just want to make sure - you check fuse # 3 and #5 for the wipers and fuse #6 for the radio? Did you use an ohm meter or visual? I suggest an ohm meter since you can not always see a defect.

For the wipers, if the fuse is okay, check for voltage at the motor from the plug. If voltage is present replace the wiper motor. I would also disconnect the wiper motor plug and put 12V on one pin and ground the other from the battery and see if it works. I don't see where the wipers and the radio problem are together right now.

Also, does your car have a 3.0L, 3.3L, or 3.3L CNG engine? Is it a Grand Voyager or normal Voyager and is it just a Grand, just a Voyager or an LE or SE.

For the radio, do your door locks affect the radio at all... Are your door locks working okay?

It has a stock Mopar radio in it. All of the fuses are good. The door locks work fine. It has a 3.0 engine and is just a plain Voyager. The only thing that has been modified is there is a red light on the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. It is about 3 inches in diameter. This used to be a government vehicle. We don't know what the light was used for because we have never seen it come on. We have found no switch to turn it on. We are checking the wiper motor now.
