I am looking to restore a 1992 Plymouth Voyager which has been sitting in my dad's driveway for the past 8 years. I have been turning the key to start it up and while it it making the right sound it is not starting. I had been told by a local auto shop to turn the ignition 3 times then leave it in power setting when I noticed 6 then 5 flashes of the "Check Engine" light. How can I figure out what that means or any other suggestions?

You sure its not 55

55 Completion of fault code display.

I have been turning the key to start it up and while it it making the right sound it is not starting. Do below to determine if its fuel or spark problem

Get a starting fluid/ether/better off gas in a spray bottle and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
