We have been having problems with this car shutting off while driving, stalling so forth. Sometimes wont start. We did the diagnostics thing and it showed 2lights 3lights 6lights and 5 lights all in a row, with pauses between the num bers of course. Can you offer us any help? We have put so much into fixing this adn that on this car already. THanks

Hi smileybabygirl,

Thank you for the donation.

I would need some additional information and clarification to understand the problem.

1. Is the engine 2.2 L or 2.5 L?
2. Is it a turbo version?
3. When retrieving the diagnostic codes, the length of pauses are important to denote a second digit or a new code. Please reconfirm the code with the following description.

The 2-digit codes displayed by the Power Loss Light are indicated by a series of flashes. For example, code 23 is displayed as flash, flash, 4-second pause, flash, flash, flash. After a slightly longer pause, any other codes stored are displayed in numerical order.

Thank you.

Hi Shantale,

Here is a description of the codes and the ATM test procedures that you should carry out.

Code 12
Problem with battery feed to logic module. Occurs when feed has been disconnected within last 20-40 engine starts.

Code 26 (Non-Turbo Only)
Problem with fuel injector driver. Indicates peak injector current level has not been reached during cranking. ATM code 02.

Code 55.
This is the "end of diagnostic mode." This code will appear as the final code after all other trouble codes have been displayed.

ATM CODES
Actuation Test Mode (ATM) test codes are 2-digit numbers, appearing on the diagnostic readout box, that identify various circuits that will be used during diagnostics. They are listed under applicable trouble codes.

Circuit Actuation Test Mode (ATM)
1. Put system into Diagnostic Mode. Wait for code 55 to appear on readout box display and Power Loss Light to stop blinking. Ensure read/hold switch is in "READ" position. Press and hold ATM button on readout box until the desired ATM test code is displayed. Release ATM button.
2. The logic module will turn the selected circuit on and off at 2 second intervals for 5 minutes and then turn the test off. To stop the test before the 5 minute period is complete, turn the ignition off.
