My AC went out and my car is starting to make more and more noises and is getting louder. Can't afford to fix it and plan to eventually get another car when I can afford to.

I believe I have a surpentine belt so would the clutch freeze and cause the belt to break or cause any other mechanical problems? Just need to drive it until I can find another car.

Yes that could be a possibility, if its making noise then most likely its the bearings inside the pulley, and they have the potential to freeze up because of swelling caused by the heat/friction. You can try and lubricate the pulley somewhat with some pb blaster or wd40, just to give it some extra "slide" on the bearings, plus the noise will mostlikely go down. Give it a try. And I think as long as you dont work it too long you;ll be ok
