1997 Plymouth Neon 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Last week I was driving my Neon to my boyfriends on the express way. It stalled out three times on the way there. It was like it completely shut off. The speedometor went to 0 but i still had my foot on the gas and was moving. After sitting for a minute it would start back up. The last time it stalled (4th time), it didnt start back up. We checked all the fuses and wires and came to the conclusion that it was the fuel pump. When we turn the car on you cant hear the pump turn on. So i got a pump from a junk yard. We got it put in but its still not starting and the pump still isnt turning on. Do we have to reset the ecm or is there anything else that could be causing it to not start?

Hello, when you first turn the key on, no crank, can you hear the pump run for a couple seconds? If not, check the circuits at the fuel pump relay in the power distribution center. Unplug the relay, use a testlite, with the key on, check for two hot terminals. Maybe it is just a fuse? Also check for codes, you should be able to get some codes by cycling the ignition switch, cycle the key till dash lites come on, no further. On--off, on--off,on, then the check engine lite starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes.
