1997 Plymouth Breeze alternator not charging

I have a 97 plymouth breeze and I put another motor in it and when I got done putting it and stuff I went to start it and the battery light came on so I thought I was from disconnecting the battery and all but it wasnt so I took the alternator out and put another one in and it still did the same. So is there anyway I would jump wires from the alternator to make it charge thanks

Check fuse s
check the wires at the back of the alternator

should have battery volts at the big one
