1995 Plymouth Acclaim Brown Fluid

I just bought this car a week ago. The speed sensor was bad, now the tranny is slipping slamming into 2nd. Checked the fluid, brown. Ask the dealer and was told in older model cars you cannot change the fluid or it will kill the engine. Help.

Hi there

You will need to get this trans inspected asap, it may be well beyond any basic repair, but an inspection by a trans specialist will be able to advise you of the best action to take, you can and should be doing trans services, the dirty oil is a sigh of slipping problems for a long time, the dirty old oil is just compounding the problems you are now having.
