1993 Plymouth Acclaim 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 110340 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Well for about a couple of months now, when I start my car it runs weak like it is not getting pressure and about to cut off unless I'm pressing the gas. When I'm driving and I come to a stop or slow down to turn, the car cuts off. It cuts back on but it just runs like it is not getting gas propperly and the tail pipe has started smoking baddly recently while it is running. Now the car won't start and I noticed that the tail pipe was smoking a tiny bit when I tried to start the car, also I hear like a kind of back fire noise come from back there when trying to crank the car up. Someone told me it was a MAP censor and someone else said the catalytic converter. Please let me know your opinion! Thank you.

Read the codes, on yours you self test by turning thr key from of to on three times, on the fourth time, leave the key on, check engine light will flash the stored codes...count the flashes and write down the result, a 22 will read as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes. If more c than 1 code is stored, the pause is longer, the codes will flash 3 times and end with 55.
