Electrical problem
1989 Plymouth Acclaim 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I took the battery out to check on something, and the car alarm fuse wire came loose. The wire attaches to the pos. Batt. Terminal. I took off the tape covering the fuse, and saw where the fuse was blown; I connected the wire to the pos. Terminal, replaced the fuse, and when I connected the neg. Terminal, the alarm went off, and the valet light started flashing. I shut the alarm off with the remote, and taped the fuse, but when I closed the hood and trunk lids, the valet light wouldn't light, and the alarm wouldn't work. I think I may have made some mistake when I put in the fuse. Can you tell me the correct way to put in an alarm fuse? I have a Viper alarm on my car, and the alarm was installed in 1993. Thanks.

You'll need to get a manual for the Viper alarm you have.

It was installed by someone, and God only knows what their mechanical abilities were. It may be a nice professional install or it may have been put in by a quack.
