Models melting fuse holder
Electrical problem
1995 Other Peugeot Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 67000 miles
The water temperature of my motorhome is controlled by two electrically driven fans. The first fan cuts in at 88 C as shown on temp gauge. The second fan cuts in at 93 C.
If the second fan runs for about half an hour the fuse holder and the plastic body of the fuse itself begins to melt without blowing the fuse. The fuse is 20 amps as specified by the manufacturer. I am mystified as to why the fuse does not blow but more so by the build up of heat. The filling of the cab with smoke is disconcerting to say the least. The fan itself when 12 volts is put across it spins smoothly.
