hi,im new to this site so bear with me,i have a talbot express 2.0 petrol camper van1991, i have a miss on the engine on idle,i have just bought a compression tester to check the engine, but dont know what the compression range should be i have changed all the electrics.cleaned out the carb ect,done the timing,so now i will look at a burnt valve,can any one give me any info on the compression readings,thanks barry.

optimum reading is 150psi .. anything between 100 and 150 is ok the higher the better ... anything below 100 and it needs investigating ..

hi dave,thanks for your reply,now i know where im goin,been in hospital for an op so hope to do the test in a few days,,thanks again,mcgraw
