1998 Peugeot Expert Manual

Not sure if I have given the precise details of the van. It's my dad's van and I was hoping to buy him a stereo for christmas. His current radio doesn't work, he mentioned it had something to do with the wiring, the dashboard doesn't light up either. I just wanted to know would it be worth me getting this new stereo for him or would the whole thing need re-wiring in order for this to work. Sorry the information I have given is so general but I can't ask him too many questions about it without raising suspicion.
