Noises problem

Hey Everyone

Own a Peugeot 205SI with 200,000km on the clock.

The car has started to make an extremely loud, repetitive screeching noise when started. The noise seems to be less when the temperature is cold, but if the car has been driven then parked for around 30 mins, the start is fine.

I initially though that the problem was due to oil level, but I filled up with premium oil and replaced the filter, which only very slightly alleviated the problem, in terms of rate of occurrence, rather than severity.
