Filled my car up yesterday full tank drove about fifty four miles and my petrol gauge went down to between half and three quarter why is this?

It may be the sending unit problem. But we have no information on these cars as they are not sold in US. Could be the dash going bad as well as they are digital but can be rebuilt.
