When I drive with the A/C on and come to a complete stop and sit for a few minutes, the truck will start to overheat then goes back to normal operating temperature when I start going. There are no leaks and no other issues. I do not want to just start putting parts in it and not fixing this what could be the problem. How could I test it?

Hello, I am Danny.

It sounds like you might be having a problem with your fan clutch. These are designed to cool the engine at low speeds (usually at forty five mph or less) and especially at idle when hardly any air is flowing through radiator. I have attached a couple how to links explaining operation and how to test. Hope this helps and please feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

I just changed my fan clutch after you posted it is still overheating. I have been driving for awhile and come to a stop then goes back down when I start moving again after a few minutes.

Hello again.

Have you had the radiator checked for proper circulation? I would also suggest checking the radiator fins for debris/blockage by using a high pressure hose to remove any blockage like dog hair/debris. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
