Can you post the filter make and part No? An incorrect filter often will just leak oil from the seal or not fit at all.

There is a remote possibility if it caused the pressure to go extremely high but that is highly unlikely. That would be more of a defective filter than an incorrect one.

That could have just as easily been caused by overfilling the oil also.

I agree, these engines have been known to have oil pump problems when they get some Km's on the clock, I do doubt that the oil filter was the cause of the problem.
