2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette Trip meter resets

2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 135000 miles

Every time the vehicle is started the trip meter (A and B) resets. The odometer does not reset.

Normally, I would have no concern. Since the fuel guage does not function, we have used the trip meter to determine when to fill up.

Try replacing your battery, I had the same problem, I went to Autozone and ask them to test my battery and charging system, my battery failed. BTW the testing is free.

Despite the alternator charging at 14 volts, the battery only produced 10 from a cold start. After the battery was replaced, the tripometer functioned. Thanks for your help!
