The car is 1993 Oldsmobile Achieva S 2.3 L, 4 cyl, mileage is around 148,700.

No one seem able to give me an straight answer on this topic.

I would like to know what is the difference between Head Gasket Kit, where I know you will have to put together by yourself and take the bottom of head gasket to a shop for possible resurfacing.

Now what does Rebuilt Head Gasket have to offer?

Okay, what I think you mean is just the head, when you replace the head gasket, sometimes the head will need resufaced by a machine shop if it is warped. The advantage of buying a rebuilt head is that the valves and valve seals and such have been replaced. Old vavles seals leak oil into the cylinder and will cause blue smoke out the exhaust, especially on start up.
