1990 Olds Delta 88 Royale
apprx 80,000 miles
Automatic transmission
3.8L Fuel Injected

Car for two years has had occasional starting or stalling issues that were so minor they didn't need to be addressed. It seemed the stalling instances happened only when the fuel got low. ...Maybe contaminants in bottom of tank. So...kept tank full.

The other issue seemed auto-choke related...but the car would start.

Suddenly one day, the car would not start. Period. Not fire at all. Will fire with starter fluid in throttle body but dies when that supply is exhausted.

Does the fuel pump have a fuse I can check? Any other ideas? How difficult is it to change the pump...and would I save a significant amount of money doing it myself?

Regards,
James

Hello James!!

Start checking the fuses Number: 10 17 and 25

then the fuel pump relay which its located on the relay center behind glove box compartment 2nd column of relays 2nd one from the top..

(Jump the relay to see if the pump works or not)

Good Luck and let us know !!
