Electrical problem
1999 Other Oldsmobile Models 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 98620 miles

I started my Olds 88 LS car and heard a mechanical crack noise - the check engine light came on when I came down my driveway. I had Autozone read the code and was told of the misfire. I drove the car for 10 miles and the check engine light went off and it drives without hestitation.
Can I resume driving as usual or is some specific servicing needed? Tune-up with change of plugs and wires or something more involved? What is the worse case scenario - is it worth fixing?

THanks
OO

Absolutely worth fixing. Plugs and wires will probably fix your problem. Possibility of replacing 1 coil if its burnt really bad. You can check by removing each wire 1 at a time from the coil and you will probably find 1 that is rusty or black at the coil tower. Very common problem.
