1997 Oldsmobile LSS no check engine light
Computer problem
1997 Oldsmobile LSS 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 168000 miles
starter cranked slow when engine was warm, I had to jump it a couple of times, the last time it started then died. I replaced the battery stillno crank, then Ireplaced the starter, still no crank. Then I replaced the ignition switch, still no crank. I then tried to read the codes, the code reader said no communication.

Pin 16 at the datalink connector should be hot all the time, is it? If no voltage, check the fuse, rdo--cluster--misc fuse, 10 amp in the fuse box. My info shows a security system on your vehicle, I probably can't track that from here.
The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal, should be hot with the key in the crank position, if it isn't hot, backtrack the circuit. Any testing make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.
